Every Legacy Starts with a New Step
At The Mona Legacy Group, we’re not just offering housing, we’re helping people rewrite their futures.
We believe in the power of second chances — and the strength it takes to start over. Founded with compassion and purpose, our organization provides supportive shared housing for individuals facing some of life’s toughest barriers, including incarceration, homelessness, mental illness, addiction, and trauma.
We specialize in grouping residents with similar backgrounds to foster understanding, structure, and mutual accountability. Each of our homes offers more than shelter — they provide stability, case management, community connection, and a clear path forward.
Our Mission…
To provide stable, dignified housing and comprehensive support to individuals often overlooked by society. Through structured oversight and intentional community partnerships, we foster environments where second chances transform into lasting legacies. We are committed to restoring dignity, promoting accountability, and building pathways to reintegration for justice-involved and underserved populations.
Why shared living?
Shared living offers more than just a roof over someone’s head—it creates a supportive, structured environment where people with similar life experiences can heal, grow, and thrive together. At The Mona Legacy Group, we believe that community is the foundation of change. By grouping individuals with shared backgrounds and barriers, residents gain not only affordable housing but also peer support, accountability, and a sense of belonging that traditional housing often lacks.
Shared living also allows us to provide wraparound services—like case management, employment training, and community linkage—more efficiently and effectively. Residents are not isolated; instead, they are surrounded by others working toward the same goals of stability, independence, and purpose.
“After spending my entire career working with the unhoused population and in the corrections system, I saw one truth time and time again — people don’t fail because they’re broken. They fail because the systems around them are. I founded The Mona Legacy Group to change that. We create spaces where people are seen, supported, and given the structure they need to thrive. Because when someone is given a real chance — they can build something powerful. They can build a legacy.”

The Mona Legacy Group was inspired by the life and legacy of Ramona E. Sancho, lovingly known as “Mona Reed”. To those who knew her, Mona was more than a teacher, more than a friend, more than a family member—she was a light in every room and a safe place for anyone in need.
Mona was a woman who believed in people, no matter their story or circumstance. As a teacher, she dedicated her life to shaping young minds, instilling not only knowledge but also confidence, kindness, and the courage to keep going. Beyond the classroom, her lessons were lived out daily in the way she cared for her family, her neighbors, and her community.
Mona had a heart that knew no boundaries. Her door was always open, her table always had an extra seat, and her arms were always ready to embrace someone who needed comfort. Whether it was a struggling student, a friend or family member down on their luck, or someone simply in need of a listening ear, Mona cared without question and gave without expecting anything in return.
Her life was a living example of generosity, service, and unconditional love. She embodied the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and given a chance to succeed.
The Mona Legacy Group carries her spirit forward. Just as Mona welcomed and uplifted others, we strive to provide support, guidance, and hope to those navigating some of life’s greatest challenges. Our mission is rooted in her example—to care deeply, serve faithfully, and believe in second chances.
Through this work, Mona’s love continues to ripple through every life we touch. Her legacy is not only remembered but actively lived out in the homes we build, the lives we support, and the communities we strengthen.
